Sunsport cage training camp to start April 3

Aspiring hoopsters could look forward to another exciting summer as the Sunsport Basketball Training Camp, which takes pride for being Cebu's longest and best-run cage clinic, will kick off its 2006 edition on April 3 at the New Sacred Heart Center Sports Club along D. Jakosalem Street, this city.

Now on its 11th year, Sunsport manager Andrew Choachuy assures the young hopefuls who will be joining the camp of a more comprehensive and extensive training regimen.

Aside from the fundamentals of the game such as proper shooting, dribbling, and passing, training camp director Jiovannie "Jojo" Romarate, presently the head coach of the Salazar College of Science and Institute of Technology high school and college varsity teams, will also tackle on the technical aspect of the sport including some offensive drills and defensive strategies.

Registration is set at 8 am on April 1. The first level of training is scheduled Monday to Friday from April 3 to April 28. Only two hours is alloted per session.

The second level, on the other hand, is set from May 1 to May 26.

Registration fee is pegged at only P1,000 per month. Upon registration, participants will receive Sunsport items such as the Sunsport basketball 2006 edition, bag, upper uniform, ball bag, and Viper sandals.
