Danao to host 2nd leg of SPEEDO National Triathlon

The second leg of the SPEEDO-National Age-Group Triathlon will be taking place in Danao City on March 26.
Initially, Danao was scheduled to host the third leg not the second of this developmental action next to Davao.
A new route has been designed by the Triathlon Association of the Philippines (TRAP) and the Danao City Sports Commission (DCSC) for the second leg.
Participants will swim a distance of 1,000 meters on sea waters of Danao fish port, bike a total of 30 kilometers on the national road with a turning point in Catmon and run for about seven kilometers.
Triathletes are divided into different age-brackets:19-years-old and below, 20-24-, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54 and 55-above.
At stake in the event sponsored by SPEEDO, City Government of Danao, Reliv Philippines, Danao Telecom, David's Salon, the Philippine Sports Commission, Nestle PowerBar, MetroAlliance, Asian Centre For Insulation Philippines, Inc., and the municipalities of Carmen and Catmon are series of qualifying points for the top 20 male and female finishers.
Medals and gift items/certificates will be given to all age-group winners, while a custom-made t-shirts will be handed out to all the finishers.
To add excitement to the event, a team relay will be contested. Each team shall be composed of two to three members.
A two-man team must select which two disciplines he or she will be taking part. For a three-member team, each member will be assigned to a specific discipline (one will swim, one will bike and one will run).
Entry fee is pegged at P300 and P350 from March 20 towards the race day.
The registration fee is inclusive of a race packet, swim cap, post-race breakfast and finisher's t-shirt.
A 20 percent discount will be granted to students and senior citizens. Triathletes registered with the TRAP will enjoy a 10 percent discount.
