DC Tigers, LC Customs cop third place trophies

The Ma. Lourdes Mangaoang-backed DC Tigers and LC Customs Brokerage clinched third place in their respective divisions in the 10th season of the Customs Employees and Brokers Union (CEBU) Collector's Cup 2006 basketball tournament at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Gym in Punta Princessa.

DC Tigers mangled Customs Police, 85-66, in the 35-above class while LC Brokers survived a tight battle over MEZ, 88-80, in the 35-below division.

Dondon Llenos spearheaded the DC Tiger's sterling performance by firing 31 points to lead while Jupiter Almocera, Bert Sta. Maria and Arthur Santillan also came up with impressive showing, pitching in 12, 11, and 10 points, respectively.

Jeffrey Alindogan topscored with 18 points to lead Customs Police, while Cris Halamana and Danny Dalucapaz with combined for 23 points.

On the other hand, LC Brokers overhauled a 10-point deficit posted by MEZ, 50-40, at the bend behind the onslaught of Vergil Yap and Neil Campos.

But LC Brokers woke up from deep slumber and waxed hot at the start of the fourth period to take the lead, 74-66, mid-way in the fourth quarter.

Kern Sesante played huge in the pivotal period scoring 13 points, while PJ Uribina and Kenneth Maningo scattered 21 and 16 points.
