Loctite Gluemakers thrash Larimp in PPSA Lourdes Cup 2006 hoopla

Loctite Super Glue notched its fifth victory at the expense of Larimp Network Tech, 95-84, in the Punta Princesa Sports Association' Lourdes Fiesta Cup 2006 basketball tournament at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Gym.

Loctite Super Glue took a commanding 15-point lead, 70-65, at the end of the third quarter, but Larimp put up a fierce rally midway in the payoff period to threaten at 77-78.

That was, however, the best Larimp could muster as the Gluemakers put up a stifling defense and fought with composure until the closing seconds of the game to secure the win.

Jun Baure and Danny Estrera powered Loctite with 22 points apiece. Rey Maraño added 15 points, while Takus Nacar and Bong Dagopioso each donated 10 markers.

Tasy Vidal charted 16 markers for Larimp, while the troika of Lando Tabalin, Jimmy Carcueva and Jerry Tindoy connived for 29 points in a losing cause.

In the other game, the Double A sponsored PPBA walloped Petron X-tra Unleaded, 96-82.

Boy Alfeche and Kokoy Cenabre spearheaded Double A by scoring 19 and 17 points, respectively, while ex-PBA Mark Tallo provided the teammanship and dished off several assists that allowed three other players to cash in twin digits.

On the other hand, Cesar Ortega drilled in 28 points to lead the University of San Carlos-PTA to a 106-97 bashing of Global Accent Export.

Opel Cabaltera and Reggie Licanda ably backed up Ortega with a combined 36-point output, while Alwen Tabasa and Alfie Lansan scored 24 and 16 for the losing team.
