LC Brokerage clobbers CEBU in Customs Collector's Cup tilt

LC Customs Brokerage stayed firm at the top of the leaderboard after it clobbered CEBU, 93-78, in the 35-above division of the Customs Employees and Brokers Union (CEBU) Collector's Cup basketball tournament at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Gym in Punta Princesa.

A see-saw battle ensued with both teams closing the first period at 20-all, but LC took a point lead, 43-42, at the half.

But LC Brokers began its offensive attack in the second period as the combined firepower of Kenneth Maningo, powerforward Kern Sesante and Arnie Bulabon helped ballooned its lead en route to a convincing win.

Sesante, the University of Cebu hotshot pulled away with 18 points while Maningo and Bulabon added 13 points apiece as LC Customs log its fifth win against two losses.

Ian Go, on the other hand, tallied 18 markers for CEBU while Junrey Arreglo chipped in 13 points as they absorbed its fourth setback.

Meanwhile, the Punta Princesa Sports Association Lourdes Fiesta Cup kicks off at 1:00 p.m. today at the same venue.

The tournament features 30-above and 40-above divisions.
