Pipeline nips ABG in CIT caging

Pipeline Resto Bar hurdled past ABG Associates, 93-90, over the weekend in the Jumawan's Cup-Cebu Institute of Technology Basketball Association tournament at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Gym.
Despite playing undermanned, ABG managed to keep pace with Pipeline Resto Bar as both teams fought closely from the start, exchanging rallies that saw the scores tied at 44-all at the half.
But Pipeline put up a strong offensive and defensive assault in the payoff canto with skipper Reeve Jumawan leading the charge as he unleashed six crucial points of his 23-point explosion in the pivotal period to seal the win.
Pete Patrimonio and Joel Castro solidly backed Jumawan by pitching in 20 and 18 points, respectively as Pipeline shares the standing with ABG with 5-3 win-loss card.
Darwin Consuegra finished with a game-high 29 points for ABG while Jonas Lastimosa and Em-em Jumawan contributed 24 and 17 markers, respectively.
In the other match, Corrtech remained winless after it lost to Frontel, 72-52.
Former Crispa stalwart Freddie Serafica came up 18 points for Corrtech, while the trio of Roger Perales, Esmie Herbito and Dondon Yap led Frontel connived for 46 points.
Ferri Mcmill, on the other hand, blasted Kartabz, 85-72, in the main game.
Kartabz, which opened with a 22-19 count, was led by Alwen Tabasa and Danny Santillan but Ferri Mcmill turned the table going into the final period.
Danny Del Peña and Ranel Bernal had 22 points apiece for Ferri, while Wewe Celestial added 17.
