CSCST FC and San Roque dump foes in Aboitiz bootfest

One-sided matches greeted the Division B action of the 9th Aboitiz Men's Football League yesterday at the San Roque field in Brgy. Subangdaku, Mandaue City.

Cebu State College of Science and Technology FC mercilessly drubbed the less experienced FC Inter-Lapulapu, 12-1, in the opening match, while San Roque FC took advantage of its home court in a 7-1 rout of FC Inter-Cebu.

CSCST preyed on FC Inter-Lapulapu's weak defensive line, with Jun Clark nailing a hat-trick as the 6th, 21st and 34th.

Randy Vercide also showed a class of his own by scoring three goals at the 19th,69th and 80th, while Romel Justo pitched in three more goals at the 30th, 32nd and 35th.

Joseph Omiping did not go off without contributing as he banged in goals at the 74th and 84th, while Romeo Vercide donated one goal at the 50th.

On the other hand, San Roque FC displayed all round team effort.

Anthony Colina broke the ice of the match at the 19th and then Romeo Bordalba followed up three minutes later to put San Roque ahead, 2-0.

Eleazar Toledo, Bright Academy coach, scored at the 24th minute, while two minutes after Darwin Bordalba chipped in his contribution.

Also chalking up with one goal each were Bert Eco, Jovie Bordalba and John Mayol at the 67th, 88th and 89th, respectively.

In the main game, Queen City United nailed a thrilling 4-2 victory against Metropolitan FC.

Dexter Arrojado's two consecutive goals in the closing minutes of game saved the day for Queen City.
