Nebria scores double in 'Tour de Frank'

- Caecent No-ot Magsumbol -
Antonio Nebria swept all the two leg titles at stake in the 4th Luzvimin Racing-RECYCLE Cycling Series dubbed as the "Tour de Frank" after dominating the road race in the northern part of Cebu yesterday.

In the opening day of the competition led by Luzvimin Racing's main man Frank Gatdula, Nebria won the criterium event, besting a bunch of seasoned pedal-pushers.

In the second and final day, Nebria just kept his silence and worked his way up.

The class A battle of the 72-kilometer action was decided through a sprint finish with Nebria managing to break-free approximately in the final 150 meters.

Had the organizers decided not to cancel the overall standings, Nebria would have easily won the race.

Nilo Barbalose and Robert Villaver had an exchange of position in day 1 results, with Barbalose winning the second place and Villaver landing at third.

Jaybop Pagnanawon, who took the King of the Mountain award, settled for fourth and Jovani Delica fifth.

On the other hand, Ben Fabroa bounced back and won the class B title over Richard Patalinghug, while the KOM awardee Andy Villaver was third.

Former triathlete, Nonoy Jopson, ended his quest at fourth, while Ciano Dignos was fifth.

Jerome Belhida, the first rider under class C to reach the KOM point, kept his lead to rule his class.

The riding doctor, Jonathan Simbajon, settled for second place, while Roy Carbonera was third and Frank Alindao and Tyre Lambo occupied the fourth and fifth sports, respectively.
