The meeting will be presided over by lawyer Danny Deen, who was the skipper of the much-vaunted Old Warriors during their CCAA reign from the 1956-1959 seasons.
Without their coach Juan "Dodong" Aquino Jr., who passed away last November 29, the members of the Old Warriors will have to pursue the naming of their association, which they planned to make it into a foundation.
Julian A. Macoy, one of the most celebrated member of the team, said that forming an official name for the Old Warriors was an idea of Aquino. Macoy from Dumanjug, Cebu, set a CCAA (later CAAA and now CESAFI) unofficial collegiate record when he scored 126 points in one game against the Cebu College of Arts and Trades in the 1958 CCAA season, which also saw the Warriors winning, 152-85.
Macoy said that all Warriors from batches 1956-59 who are here in Cebu are welcome to attend the meeting.
Expected to attend tonight are Atty. Baldomero C. Estenzo, Baseline owner Doring Cañizares, Bobby Barria and Eddie Montalban, among others.
