Global Accent versus DAY in X'mas caging championship

- Sona Mae V. Povadora -
Global Accent Export and DAY earned final berths after trampling separate rivals in the Punta Princesa's 2005 Inter-Village Christmas basketball tournament at the Vicente Sotto Memorial gym.

Global whacked Atillo Subdivision, 100-77 while DAY clobbered F. Pacaña, 82-72.

Warren Lyne and Yao Desucatan buried 23 and 15 points, respectively as they powered Global Accent to victory. The trio of CJ Dela Cruz, Jong Ilagan and Jake Cortez also came out with solid performance as they combined for 33 points while Tin Atillo chipped in 18 markers.

In the other game, DAY had a jittery start, posting a slim lead, 20-17, lead on the assault of point-guard Lito Navarro, who unleashed 10 points.

But in the ensuing game, DAY erected a commanding 69-50 lead en route to the final period with Cesar Tabar and power-forward Oliver Sanoy lead the scoring binge by posting 22 and 18 points as it also drew double figures each from Inzan Tobes, Jeryy Olmenado and James Ayaban.

Meantime, interested hoopsters are invited to join the Lourdes Cup-2006 basketball tournament which will highlight 30-above and 40-above category.
