Cebu's Alta Vista Golf and Country Club (AVGCC) kept its hold of the overall lead in the race for club honors after the second leg of the 2005 Sta. Lucia Golf Tour, which ended Saturday in Davao City.
The Cebuanos now have a total of 76 points after two legs anchored on the sterling performance of Alta Vista 1, which has won back-to-back leg honors in the premiere Group 1 competition.
Alta Vista 1 composed of Carl Almario, Joseph Stevens, Nonoy Tirol, and Enrico Solon, who replaced Ramontito Garcia for the Davao leg, ran away with their division title with a total of 305 points on rounds of 148 and 157.
The tournament format requires a team to field four players with the three best scores per round to count for the total.
Runner-up honors for Group 1 again went to Eagle Ridge 1 with 296 points on rounds of 146 and 150.
The Group 2 title went to Palos Verdes 4 with 267 (133-134) while Palos Verdes 3 finished as runner-up with 249 (123-126).

Eagle Ridge is a far third with 59 points. A total of 8 teams are seeing action in the tournament. The final leg will be held in Luzon early December.
In the battle for individual honors, Almario once again stamped his class winning the leg title for class A with his total of 111 points on rounds of 54 and 57, which is three-under-par.
The tournament uses the Molave points system where a double-eagle is worth seven points, an ace is six, an eagle five, a birdie four, a par three, a bogey two, and a double-bogey is one.
Almario's three-under-par performance on the second round also earned him the best score for the second round of the event.
Alfonso Marcelino was the runner-up for the leg with 108 points (55-53).
Byeong Gwan Yoon of Summit Point once again topped class B with a total of 94 points on rounds of 46 and 48.
