Cebu bets enter finals in Milo tennis

Cebuano Sally Mae Siso is a step away from going to Malaysia to defend her Milo-Malaysia International Age-Group Championships after winning her semi-final assignment in the Milo National Qualifying tournament yesterday at Phil-Am Homes Tennis Courts in Quezon City.

Sally Mae Siso of the University of San Carlos South Campus, who grabbed three international titles last year, blanked Mindanao's Honey Mae Gilles, 6-0, 6-0.

She also booked a championship match versus Zhane Quitara in the 14-under class.

Sally Mae's brother, Nino and another very promising netter, Jacob Lagman also secured finals ticket after defeating separate opponents.

Niño Siso opened his bid with a 6-0,6-0 win against Luzon's Eric Paul Badilla and then over Fritz Cris Verdad 6-0,6-1.

He will face today NCR's Juan Lorenzo Ferrer for the boys' 12-under finals.

Lagman joined the Siso siblings in the finals after coming up with impressive wins in the 10-under division.

Lagman of Saint Benedict Childhood Education Center opened with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Edgardo Parmalejo.

After a short rest, Lagman proceeded with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Jurence Mendoza to meet Khadi Jainul in the championship. - Caecent No-ot and Sona Mae V.Povadora
