JRE, H20 triumph in Forty Aces basketball league

JRE Ranile Engineering Services scored a come-from-behind 66-64 victory over Philips while H20 subdued MSEI Marketing, 93-90, in the Forty Aces MPC basketball league at the Visayan Glass gym.

Philips controlled the tempo until the third quarter and took a nine-point lead going into the final period, 50-41.

But JRE slowly crawled back and grabbed the momentum in the payoff period courtesy of Jimmy Ortiz and Songa Gabutan's two triples that helped pave the way for JRE towards victory.

Benrubs Delfino led JRE's scoring binge with 15 points while Bobby Divinagracia top scored for the losing team with 16.

In the main game, H20 surived an end-game rally behind the combine efforts of Stephen Postero and Jimlyn Campomanes to log its second straight victory in the 40-above division.

Paul Abais and Bong Loquias unleashed 38 and 21 points, respectively, while Postero and Campomanes connived for 43 points for the losing team.
