The members of the RP mountainbike team are now training back at the rugged terrains of Danao City, the venue for the mountainbike event of the 23rd Southeast Asian (SEA) Games set on November 28 and 29.
Coach Renato Mier told The Freeman they are very thankful to CebuSoc vice chairman and Danao City Councilor Oscar "Boying" Rodriguez, Jr. for his all-out support in their training.
The RP team was already in Danao early last month, but was told by RP cycling head coach Jommel Lorenzo to go back to Manila to undergo medical check-up when it was possible for the PSC to just send a medical personnel here to conduct the test.
After the medical check-up in Manila, the RP mountainbikers became idle and were training less as they have to await for PhilCycling to release funds for their ticket fare back to Cebu.
It was then learned that Rodriguez was the one who financed the RP team's trip back to Danao with PhilCycling said to be cash-trapped.
