CEBU whips Collins in PPSA

The Customs Employees and Brokers Union (CEBU) sparked a final rally to whack Collins, 69-55, winning its third assignment in the 40-above division in the Punta Princesa Sports Association basketball tournament at Vicente Sotto Memorial Gym.

Keming Gutierez and Yok Alesna led CEBU's onslaught with 15 and 11 points, respectively.

On the other hand, St. Therese Pawnshop defeated the undermanned RCAF Variety Store in overtime, 112-98.

St. Therese controlled the tempo until the third quarter but RCAF waxed hot in the final canto with Alwen Tabasa hitting a triple in the last 15 seconds to close the gap, 90-92.

Jun Garzo hit a short jumper in the remaining four ticks to tie the count 92-all sending the game to overtime.

But it was St. Therese who dominated game in the extra period after RCAF was left with only four players.

The win elevated St. Therese to a 3-3 win loss record, while RCAF sports a 3-4 card.

Chito Hernandez and Alfred Lim buried 24 and 20 points for St. Therese, while Tabasa posted a game-high 35 points that also drew 43 markers from Ruel Espinosa and Garzo.
