Gov. Gwen Garcia RP-Taiwan kegfest set Oct. 4-9

After volleyball, Cebu's first lady governor throws her support to bowling with the holding of the 1st Governor Gwen Garcia Philippine-Taiwan Open Bowling Tournament on October 4 to 9 at the Gaisano Bowlingplex.
The huge turnout of entries prompted the organizers to extend the tournament to three more days.
A total of 45 teams including five squads fielded in by Taiwan's Union Bowling Club will see action in the five-day tilt.
Competition will be under the team, doubles, singles, masters, and all events.
"We are supposed to limit the teams to 30 because the lanes are not enough to accommodate them, so we added the more playing days to give way to our visitors," said Bowlingplex manager Elvis Lee.
The champion in the team event will get P15,000, while second and third placers will pocket P8,000 and P5,000, respectively.
The doubles champion takes home P6,000, while the second and third will receive P4,000, and P2,000.
The top three winners in the singles and all events will get P5,000, P3,000, P2,000.
The winner in the masters event will claim P12,000, while the second and third will get P7,000 and P4,000.
Only the top 30 players will qualify for the masters events based on their performances in the all events.
A whopping P100,000 in cash awaits the bowler who will score a perfect game.
Among the visiting bowlers taking part in the tournament are from Xavier University of Cagayan De Oro, Sugarbowl Tenpin Bowling Association, Davao Tenpin Bowlers Association, Gen-Ilo-ilo, and FCAAF-Manila. - Sona Mae V. Povadora
