UCI International Commissaire and Danao City councilor Oscar "Boying" Rodriguez, Jr. urged members of the national mountainbike team to strike gold in the 23rd Southeast Asian Games as prospects of mountainbike to be out of the Asian Games looms.
Mountainbiking is reportedly being replaced with track cycling in the Asian Games next year in Doha, Qatar.
Rodriguez said Qatar has the choice as to what sport events to host and it has scratched mountainbike as they don't have a strong bet and a good venue for it.
"Ever since, as far as the Asian Championships is concerned, wa man gyuy Qatar ni-apil, so wa gyud ni sa ila," Rodriguez said.
