The University of Southern Philippines high school volleybelles made up for the loss of their collegiate counterparts by bagging the second girls tiara, while the University of San Jose-Recoletos extended its championship run in the boys division of the Cebu Schools Athletics Foundation, Inc. volleyball event last Sunday at the Aznar Coliseum.
USP exacted vengeance over USJ-R later in the day after its counterparts in college, both in the men's and women's divisions, were frustrated by the Josenians.
USP fell short in the first set 18-25, but staged a daring rally in the next two sets, 25-17, 25-15 to ice the win.
The Jaguars boys team, on the other hand, floated in cloud nine after surviving Don Bosco Technology Center in four sets.
USJ-R actually had a shaky start and lost in the first set, 18-25, but the Jaguars swept the last three sets 25-21, 25-21, 28-26 to claim the crown.
University of San Carlos finished third place in boys and girls categories.
