Calinawan tops Cagayan NAGT

Gerrie Calinawan seized the sixth leg to firm up his claim to the 2005 SPEEDO National Age-Group Triathlon Series yesterday in Cagayan de Oro.
It was actually fellow Cebuano Eldy Banluta who came out the overall winner after crossing the finish line first with a time of 1 hour, 5 minutes and 12 seconds, but his win was not counted being a member of the RP team.
Calinawan clocked 1:08:57, as RP coach Abet Alon-alon came in second.
The third place overall was reigning National junior champion, Joash Serrano, who is also the male 15-below winner.
Two other Cebuano triathletes, Rowan Fernandez and Neil Reyes also landed in the top 10.
Fernadez was seventh overall in 1:12.02 while Reyes posted 1:13.37.
Reyes claimed the male 35-39 class title and Fernandez the second place honors in the 15-under class.
