In a report by noted Japanese boxingman Joe Koizumi on Fightnews.com, Fujikake fought well but was sent into nightmarish sleep by Catubay with 30 seconds left in the 10th and final round.
The flattened Fujikake was carried out by a stretcher and was swiftly whisked away to the hospital by ambulance. The Japanese southpaw underwent brain surgery to remove a blood clot, but stays in a coma at this moment.
Catubay, who is managed by Cebu-based international promoter Sammy Gello-ani, bettered his win-loss record to 16-9-3 now spiked with 11KOs, while the fallen Fujikake slipped to 16-4, with 3KOs.
Before that unfortunate incident, the boxing show was already struck with bad luck.
