Jesus "Djong" Alimbullo saved the day of the Cebuanos after bagging his fourth straight Mr. Philippines Bodybuilding title even as Manila's Angelica Altavano was crowned Ms. Philippines at the Grand Ballroom of Cebu Midtown Hotel the other night.
Alimbullo, a native of Zamboanga, came to Cebu five years ago to work at Workout Fitness Center, which is owned by Dennis Delgado.
The 34-year old Alimbullo defeated the medium tall class winner Anthony Manjares for the overall crown.
The other category winners who challenged Alimbullo were Reynaldo Pancho, Jr and Jong Morris Limbanga.
Aside from winning the medium class title, Limpangan was also adjudged as Mr. Novice over Jimmy Ansok and Juven Enjambre.
Manila bets grabbed five of the seven titles staked with the leadership of women's open champion Angelica Altavano.
Behind Altavano were Theresse Yupangco, Jessica Jagna, Rowena Dietliker and Ivy Lopez.
Also, Marcelo Abanid of Iligan also made his mark, winning in the master's division over Roque Sebastian and Eddie Mogar.
