Larimp logs first win in PPSA caging

Larimp Network Tech is back in the winning column after getting past Cablex, 73-68, to log its first win in three outings in the 30-above category of the Punt Princesa Sports Association (PPSA) basketball tournament at Vicente Sotto Memorial Gym in Punta Princesa.

The early assaults of Fred Del Campo, Edgar Sumalinog and Ekong Mosqueda allowed Cablex to take a slim lead at the bend, 42-40, but Larimp sparked a second half onslaught behind 6-foot-1 center Mark Gumallo.

Playmaker Lando Tabalin provided the leadership and dished off 12 points, while Jimmy Carcueva and Egang Tabalin combined for 21 points for Larimp.

Del Campo, on the other hand, scored a game-high 22 markers for the losing team.

In the other game, Smart Tires scored a lopsided match over Jonfer, 79-68, in the 40-above division.

Jun Sambrana ignited with an early rally by nailing 10 points while Panis Gerali and Danny Desoyo churned in 13 and 11 markers.

Bert Migraso topscored with 17 points for Jonfer.
