- Caecent No-ot Magsumbol -
The auxiliary events of the Cebu Schools Athletic Federation, Inc. (CESAFI) fire off 1 p.m. today at the University of San Carlos gym with the grand palabas expected to bring the house down.

At least six schools, which are members of CESAFI will be showcasing various entertainment numbers, including cheering and dancing, to add revelry to the ceremonies.

The presentation will follow after the declaration of the CESAFI Other Events open by current president Dr. Jose "Dodong" Gullas of University of the Visayas. He will also do the ceremonial serve in volleyball after the presentations.

The schools, which will be presenting are Southwestern University, University of Cebu, University of Southern Philippines-Foundation, Cebu Eastern College, University of the Visayas and Cebu Institute of Technology.

The Other Events in the CESAFI, which will open are athletics, badminton, beach volleyball, chess, dancesport, football, lawn tennis, sepak takraw, scrabble, swimming, volleyball, table tennis and taekwondo.

Basketball already opened last week.

Dancesport and beach volleyball will be making its debut in the CESAFI this year. The two events were added after CESAFI officials saw the dominance of Cebu athletes in major national tournaments.

USC vice-president for finance and athletic director Fr. Vicente Uy, SVD will do the welcome remarks while Joreen Sanchez, team captain of Southwestern University women's volleyball team, will lead the athletes in the oath of sportsmanship.

The opening ceremonies will be followed by two volleyball matches featuring USC against UC in the women's division and USP against UV in the men's side.
