NBC-Selection to pay courtesy call on Mayor Teddy today

-
The National Basketball Conference (NBC) Selection, backed by Nature Spring mineral water, will pay courtesy call on Mandaue City Mayor Teddy Ouano today as a gesture of acknowledging his support to the team in its participation to the 9th Crown Prince Invitational Championships from August 25-30, in Haad Yai City in Thailand.

The NBC-Natures Spring Selection is composed of four players from defending champion Tribu Sugbu and three from Hapee-Dewfoam Mantawi Sparkling Knights. The other members of the team are reinforcements from the Laguna-Spring Cooking Oil representing Metro Manila.

The Manila players will arrive today to be accompanied by NBC secretary-general Tito Palma and will proceed to the office of Mayor Ouano. After the courtesy call, there will be a press conference to be attended by the players and coaches Al Solis and Jun Noel of Tribu Sugbu and Hapee, respectively.

The players who will represent the NBC-Nature Spring are Lowell Briones, Neil Rañeses, Rex Mangubat and Doroteo Almacin of Tribu Sugbu; Ardy Larong, Danny Capobres and Maui Huelar of Hapee and Melchor Latoreno, Donn Rez Villamin, Marlon Kalaw and Val Domingo of Laguna.

They are expected to hold a few days of practice here in Cebu before they leave for Thailand on August 24.

The NBC-Nature Spring will meet teams from the other Asian nations including host Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Korea.

The other sponsors of NBC-Nature Spring Selection are Mayor Ouano, Skygo Motorcycle, Sirlitz Electronics, Hapee, Dewfoam, Spring Cooking Oil and Sulpicio Lines. (Gabby G. Malagar)
