Carrying the banner of the Queen City United (QCU), the Cebu bets maintained its lead in bracket A with a 2-0 win-loss card.
Queen City, skippered by Jan Salac, did not find it hard to beat Iligan as they were already familiar with the moves of their opponent. Iligan played in two tournaments here in Cebu and the Cebuanas always beat them.
Marlou Solon scored the first goal for QCU, 35 minutes down in the first half.
After a short rest, QCU gained another point through the efforts of Ellain Jane Macasero, 20 minutes in the second half.
Fifteen minutes after Macasero scored, Solon found another opportunity following a foul in the penalty box.
Solon succeeded in letting in the penalty kick to seal QCU's win at 3-0.
At 4 p.m. today, QCU steps on the field again and eyes for their third win when they face the Rizal squad.
Composed of current varsity and alumni of University of San Carlos, QCU is not taking Rizal for granted.
Salac said though they are more confident now, they have to be careful with Rizal as they are composed of some younger legs and reinforcements from the Davao.
