Boljo-on drubs Alcantara in Dumanjug

Team Boljo-on defeated the Alcantara, 66-62, to share the lead in Group A with San Fernando in the 2nd Mayor's Cup Inter-Town basketball tournament played in Dumanjug.

In the Group B, Samboan scored their second straight win by scoring a 69-52 victory over Moalboal to join Carcar at the top with a 2-0 win-loss record.

Carcar will go for solo leadership when it faces the Alcoy five this coming Saturday while Argao and Ronda try to break its 0-2 start when they play against each other in the main game.

Samboan's Marl Renires banged in 30 points to lead all scorers while Aries Bibiera topscored for Moalboal with 23 points.

Boljon-on's Owen Labide lead the offense with 19 points while Alcantara had Cielito Gelasque scoring 23 points to lead his team.

Samboan demolished Alcoy last week, 73-53, while Alcantara defeated Ronda, 71-53.

The top two teams in each bracket will meet in the crossover semifinals on September 24 and the knockout finals will follow immediately the following day.

Cash prizes and trophies will be awarded to the top three teams.
