Aznar Cup tees off

The par-72 Alta Vista Golf and Country Club in Pardo this city will be abuzz with activity as early as the break of day today as the 2nd Matias H. Aznar Memorial Cup tees off.
A total of 188 players have signed up for the 18-hole tournament, which is held in honor of the patriarch of the Aznar family, which is the partner in the development of this golf course with Sta. Lucia Realty and Development Inc.
This will be an 18-hole tournament that will be using the stroke play format.
Surprise giveaways will go to all participants and raffle prizes are also at stake during the awards ceremony set tonight at the AVGCC ballroom.
Competition will be under three handicap categories for the men.
There will also be the ladies, seniors, and guest divisions. There will be prizes for the top three players of each category based on their net scores.
The player with the lowest gross will be declared as the overall champion of this annual event.
At stake for a hole-in-one in the tournament will be a Nissan Sentra GX M/T 2005 model on hole No. 15. Other hole-in-one prizes are P100, 000 from Alta Vista and the Aznar family on hole No. 2, a residential lot from Sta. Lucia Realty on hole No. 6, and a class A golf share from Aznar Bros. Realty on holes No. 8 and 13.
