Sheena Go vies for honors in Women's World bowling

Cebuana bowling sensation Sheena Angeli Go made it to the elite team which will carry the Philippine colors today in the 2005 Women's World Championship at Lovvang Bowling Center, in Denmark.

Go, who made it to the 6-man RP Team, will be the first Cebuano to see action in the one of the most prestigious bowling tournament in the World.

A member of the RP national youth squad for over a year already, Go was a former stalwart of the Bowlingplex Tenpin Association (BTA) based at the Gaisano Bowlingplex in Talamban.

She earned a special citation from the San Miguel Corporation-Sportswriters Association of Cebu for finishing first in the 1st Guam International Graded Classic in 2003.

Recently, Go participated the 7th Chinese Taipei International Open at Tainan Bowling Centre in Taiwan.

Completing the RP lineup for the World's are top guns like 2003 Asian Bowler of the Year Liza Del Rosario, Cecelia Yap, Irene Benitez, Josephine Canare and Elaine Florencio.

They are accompanied by RP team manager Nene Yap and coaches Johnson Cheng and Purvis Graenger.

A total of 40 countries will be up for a tough task competing in the doubles, trios, team, single, all events and masters final. The event will culminate on August 14.
