TCC Tennis wins games in Ozamis

Members of Team Cebu City-Tennis opened in a high note their bid in the Mayor Paruhinog Cup National Men's Tennis Invitational in Ozamis City yesterday.

Cebuano balikbayans Ilak Tabura and Christian "Babaw" Tiongko stepped into the second round after defeating their respective opponents in different fashion.

Tabura clobbered Cagayan's Noel Sanchez, 6-1, 6-1 to meet RP no.5 Chemil Mantua.

Tiongko, on the other hand, dumped Valencia, Bukidnon's Lynlyn Autentico, 6-4, 6-4, to join Tabura in the next round.

On the other hand, Bo Alburo kicked away Joel Sanchez, 6-2, 6-1 and will be meeting another ranked player Elbert Anasta today.

Another TCC bet Michael Quiñones earned a 6-2, 6-2 win over Ozamis' bet, Ivan Magpantay.

In the doubles event, the tandem of cousins Alburo and Tabura defeated the Sanchez brothers, 6-2, 6-3.

Tiongko, who paired with Joel Palao, duplicated the feat of Alburo and Tabura, ruling over Danny Sajonia and Lynlyn Autentico.

Quiñones is also set to play in the doubles but with another partner. - Caecent O. No-ot
