The decorated Team Cebu City-DanceSports made the country proud anew after running away with two gold medals in the FATC National Capital DanceSport Championships the other day in Canberra, Australia.
The two gold medals were enough to place the Cebuano delegation to fourth place overall.
The team, which was manned by its director Edward Hayco Eleanor Hayco, Loloi Rendon, Bong Marquez and Chanda Lagaras bagged two gold medals in the masters latin and masters standard events.
The team's participation in the Canberra event is meant to encourage foreign athletes to participate in the 1st Cebu International DanceSport Federation Open Dancesport Championship to be held on November 28, at Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.
TCC members will also be competing in Hong Kong, Singapore, among others, in preparation for the upcoming Cebu Open both to hone their skills and gain honors and to advertise the Cebu Open to the foreign athletes.
Already, international athletes from Japan, Australia and the USA have registered for the Cebu Open this November, while more international couples from Europe are expected to sign up. - Sona Mae V. Povadora
