TCC netters start hot in Maasin Open

Senior members of Team Cebu City-tennis are carving their own marks in the first day of the Maasin City Men's Open Tennis tournament in Maasin City, Leyte.
Lorelou "Bo" Alburo led Cebu's onslaught with a sound victory over Leyte's Julius Pagsi-at, 10-3.
Formerly the top ranked 18-under player, Janji Soquiño of the University of Cebu, whipped Yoyoy Villa of Sogod, Leyte, 10-5 while Christian Tiongco blasted Jun Ryan Montalbo, 10-2, in the round of 32.
Michael Quiñones, for his part, knocked down Maasin native Jayvee Tan, 10-6.
Fritzgerald "Ilak" Tabura and Ken Alburo are yet to see action, while the doubles event starts today.
The champion in the singles division will pocket P20,000 while a purse of P8,000 await the winners in the doubles event. - Sona Mae V. Povadora
