Four championship crowns went down the drain yesterday even as action resumes today in the 2nd Thirsty Badminton Cup at the Metrosports Badminton Club in Salinas Drive, Lahug.
The games yesterday saw contenders in the 41-and above category sweating it out to reign in their respective levels.
The tandem of Jose Montalbo and Jose Suarez blended well as they snatched the men's 41 and above doubles class C title. Ernesto Cacay and Aaron Durano settled for a brides-maid finish and Joseph Tanao and Ernesto Calderon landed third.
In level E, Jimmy Lao and Solomon Arcendo outlasted Nikki Pimentel and Bill Gayatin to claim the crown.
Mili Saluria and Jeanette of MSBC outclassed Genelou Saw and Debbie Uy in bagging the women's doubles class C tiara.
Yoya Orate and Gemma Custodio, on the other hand, seized class D diadem, while Beth Sanson and Marichu Cusi wound up second.
Winners were given medals and gift certificates.
Special awards to be given are "Best in Uniform" and "Best in Individual Attire."
