Inayawan fire leaves 35 homeless
The fire alarm was received by the Cebu City Fire Department at 4:31 PM and was put under control at 5:09 PM and considered fire out at 5:17 PM.

CEBU, Philippines — An afternoon fire destroyed 10 houses, eight of which were destroyed and two damaged, yesterday in Purok 4, Sitio Upper Torre, Barangay Inayawan, in Cebu City.

The fire alarm was received by the Cebu City Fire Department at 4:31 PM and was put under control at 5:09 PM and considered fire out at 5:17 PM.

Fire Officer 1 Jayson Layar, fire investigator, said that the fire affected 15 families or about 35 individuals as per the initial report.

Layar said that investigation is still ongoing to determine the cause of fire that left an estimated ?600,000 worth of damage to properties.

The Department of Social Welfare and Services in Cebu City has conducted a listing of the number of people affected. — (FREEMAN)
