Cebu City one of Asia’s pet-friendliest

CEBU, Philippines — Cebu City is one of the only two cities in the Philippines that made it to the top 10 list as the most pet-friendly travel destination in Asia according to a ranking released by a digital travel platform recently.

Digital travel platform Agoda announced its ranking of the top 10 most pet-friendly travel destinations in Asia following the growing trend of travelers seeking accommodations that welcome their furry companions.

Agoda cited a recent study by the Allied Market Research, pet travel is on the rise in Asia with millennials and Gen Z leading the charge as they embrace pet parenthood and splurge on their furry friends.

Agoda itself saw a 64% growth in pet-friendly properties last year, making it easier than ever for pets to join their owners on travel adventures in comfort and style.

As for the rankings, Agoda calculated them based on the average number of accommodations allowing pets.

Among the countries, Vietnam rules with four out of 10 spots coming from them including Da Nang on top, Hanoi at third, Nha Trang at fourth, and Ho Chi Minh City at eighth spot.

Meanwhile, Cebu City is at second spot after Manila. They are the only two cities in the Philippines that made it to the top 10 list.

The other places the made it to Agoda’s top 10 ranking are Taiwan’s Tainan at fifth and Taichung at seventh, Thailand’s Pattaya at sixth, and New Delhi, India, at ninth.
