CEBU, Philippines — Over P6.8 million worth of drugs was seized on Christmas Day from two individuals who were immediately arrested by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas (PDEA)-7.

PDEA-7, in coordination with Naval Intelligence Security Group - Central, and Lapu-Lapu City Police Office, conducted the buy-bust operation in Sitio Lower Matumbo, Barangay Pusok, Lapu-Lapu City, which led to the confiscation of around one kilogram of shabu.

The suspects were identified as Jesson, 30, a construction worker, and his nephew alias John, 26, unemployed, both residents of the said barangay.

A third cohort of Jesson, identified as Rasheed, managed to evade arrest and remains at large.

The confiscated items included one pack of shabu weighing around 1,000 grams, buy-bust money, a smartphone, and other drug paraphernalia.

Upon further investigation, operatives also disclosed that the suspects had no prior criminal records and that the men were known for large-scale drug disposal activities.

The suspects will be celebrating their New Year in jail and will face charges in violations of Sections 5 and 26 of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
