CEBU, Philippines — The top 10 winners of the first-ever SUGBOVLOG Challenge will be announced during the Christmas Light-Up Ceremony at the Cebu Provincial Capitol today, December 16.

The competition invited Cebu Sangguniang Kabataan officials from across the province to create 3-5 minute promotional videos highlighting their towns' tourist spots, local foods, and historical heritage. The entries were evaluated by 23 judges, consisting of 20 Cebuano vloggers and three representatives from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

The set of judges assessed the participating SK federations from 21 local government units in Cebu Province.

Spearheaded by Provincial Board Member Loren Singco, this event marks the first occasion where all SK officials are collaborating to promote the province's programs and projects through social media.

DILG 7 Assistant Regional Director Atty. Ian Kenneth Lucero and DILG Cebu Provincial Director Dr. Jesus Robel Sastrillo helped oversee the judging process.

As reported, over P12 million worth of infrastructure projects and cash prizes are at stake for the winning SK Federations.

The province has allocated P12.1 million in prizes for the challenge, with each of the top 10 winning SK Federations set to receive at least P1 million worth of infrastructure projects.

On top of that, the Capitol will also give P100,000 each to the top 10. An additional P100,000 cash prize will be given for the People’s Choice Award. – /FPL (FREEMAN)
