CEBU, Philippines — Another group of local officials in Cebu Province will receive funds to implement their infrastructure projects from the Capitol.

Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia, who served as guest of honor during the yearend assembly of the Vice Mayor’s League of the Philippines (VLMP Cebu Chapter) last Thursday, announced that each vice mayor who was present will receive ?3 million worth of infrastructure projects from the Cebu Provincial Government.

This means that the Capitol will be allocating ?149 million for the 48 out of 53 vice mayors who were present during the event, as per Sugbo News, the province’s news portal report.

As they implement their intended infrastructure projects the governor urged the vice mayors to complete the particular projects during their current term or until June 30, since there it is possible that some may not be reelected to the same position after the May 2025 elections.

During the event, Garcia told the vice mayors how their full support for their respective mayors contributed to the unity that the province is enjoying now.

“And that is why we have, for the greater part, such a united province, moving in one direction, and we have been able to accomplish so much,” Garcia said.

Aside from the vice mayors, the Capitol has an allocation of ?235 million for Cebu mayors who attended their League of Municipalities of the Philippines-Cebu Chapter year-end general assembly last December 6. The allocation will be distributed to 43 mayors, who will each receive ?5 million worth of infrastructure projects.

Over 600 councilors in Cebu’s municipalities and component cities were also given ?300,000 each from the Capitol, also to fund their infrastructure projects.
