Filipinos urged to showcase their hometowns

Caecent No-ot Magsumbol - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — The Tourism Promotions Board Philippines (TPBP) is inviting Filipinos to showcase their hometowns through the “My Hometown In A Minute” video competition, offering exciting prizes, including a vacation abroad.

Participants are encouraged to create a 90-second video highlighting the best experiences in their hometown. This could include must-try cuisine, thrilling new activities, picturesque sceneries, and shopping delights.

The TPBP’s website states, “Our mission is to highlight the beauty of our hometown to the world and the pride in calling it our own.”

The contest is open to all Filipinos of legal age currently residing in the Philippines. However, employees and officials of the TPBP, along with its third-party partners, are not eligible to join. Participants may submit entries in multiple categories but can only win in one category. All entries must be original.

Participants are required to register and download the Travel Philippine App and include key elements in their video: what to eat, where to go, what to buy, and what to try and explore.

The participant's face should be visible in most of the footage, telling the story and showcasing their hometown.

Awards include the Most Creative Itinerary/Storyline, Best Cinematography, and Hidden Gem award. Each category will have one major winner and two minor awardees.

The Most Creative Itinerary prize is a 5-day, 4-night all-inclusive trip for two to London in November 2025 to cover a TPB-participated international event.

The Best Cinematography winner will enjoy a 5-day, 4-night all-inclusive trip for two to Berlin in March 2025 to cover a TPB-participated international event.

The Hidden Gem award top winner will receive a 3-day, 2-night trip for two to Batanes or Siargao, redeemable anytime within 2025.

Minor award winners in all three categories will receive roundtrip air tickets for two to any domestic destination.
