Top 10 most wanted in Region 7 arrested
CEBU, Philippines — Central Visayas’ top 10 most wanted person, wanted for three counts of cyberlibel, was arrested the other day in the City of Naga, Cebu.
Armed with warrants issued by Regional Trial Court, Seventh Judicial Region, Branch 11, Cebu City, Presiding Judge Ramon Bueno Daomilas Jr., tracker teams of City of Naga Police Station and personnel from the Regional Anti-CyberCrime Unit Central Visayas arrested Genylou Tiu, 34, a resident of Purok Lemon, Barangay Uling, City of Naga.
She was arrested for violations under section 4 (a) (1), and (3) as well as section 4 (b) (2) under the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 for breaching the confidentiality of computer data and systems, illegal access to a computer, and data interference.
She was accused of fraud for the unauthorized input, alteration, or deletion of computer data or program.
The bail for Tiu, who is currently detained at Naga City Police Station, was set at ?120,000.
The Police Regional Office-7 reported yesterday that court-issued warrants of arrest were successfully served to 33 most wanted persons and 157 other wanted persons. Tiu’s warrant of arrest was included in the E-warrant System. — (FREEMAN)
