Iris Hazel Mascardo - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — Cebu City Councilor Nestor Archival Sr. filed his Certificate of Candidacy (COC) for mayor in the 2025 polls yesterday along with the slate from the Bando Osmeña-Pundok Kauswagan (BOPK)

Party founder and former mayor Tomas Osmeña also filed his COC for vice mayor and as running mate of Archival.

According to Archival, they have the backing and support of the people who "believe in good governance and their right direction."

"Serbisyo para sa masa, dili para sa bulsa, we need the change para sa kauswagan sa syudad sa Sugbo," said Archival.

He also appealed to other aspirants to make the election a "fair play," highlighting the need to avoid utilizing the government resources to back the political campaigns.

Their BOPK council slate for the North District include Nyza Archival, Bebs Andales, Jijing Cadungog, Alvin Arcilla, lawyer Mac Gordon, Dr. Boy Labella, lawyer Mat Medalla, and former councilor Alvin Dizon.

For the South District, their bets are Bob Cabarubias, Dr. Rachelle Abella, Jun Gabuya, Rocky Alcoseba, Paul Labra, Boyet Ocampo, Ian Osmeña, and incumbent Councilor Jose Lorenzo Abellanosa.

For North District representative, incumbent Councilor Mary Ann de los Santos filed her COC while Bebot Abellanosa will be their candidate for South District representative.

Archival reiterates that among his platform is to lay down the solutions to traffic, health, flooding and housing among others.

BOPK was the final political party to submit Certificates of Candidacy (COCs) yesterday at the COMELEC, marking the official end of the filing period.  — (FREEMAN)
