CEBU, Philippines — The Cebu Provincial Government has allocated more than P380 million for this year s Balik-Eskwela program.

A total budget of P389,999,050 has been allocated by the Capitol to provide school supplies and hygiene kits to public school students in the province.

The launching of the program happened simultaneously with the kick-off for this year s third quarter of Caravan of Government Services held at Pinamungajan town in southern Cebu last Saturday, August 10.

Governor Gwendolyn Garcia and third district Congressman Pablo John Garcia led the launching of the program.

The school supplies include bags, folders, notebooks, pencils, ball pens, rulers, crayons, paper, erasers, and school uniforms, while the hygiene kits have toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, and alcohol.

According to Sugbo News, Capitol s official media arm,the program will serve as an important investment where public school students from kindergarten to Grade 12 in the province would benefit.

The school supplies and hygiene kits that were given to the students, as reported, make sure that students are prepared not only in academics, but as well as in their personal health and well-being.

The Capitol s initiative sends a message of hope to Cebuano students and their families that the provincial government is doing all it can to help them finish their much-needed education and give them a chance to succeed in life,  Sugbo News reported.

Also present during the caravan were Provincial Board Members Atty. Jiembo Borgonia and Tata Corominas-Toribio.
