Oliva: Ouano-Dizon a ‘liar’
CEBU, Philippines — Embattled Mandaue City treasurer Atty. Regal Oliva has accused Mandaue City Lone District Rep. Emmarie Ouano-Dizon of being a ‘liar’ for denying that she was behind her impending transfer to Navotas City.
A very reliable source allegedly told her that Dizon requested for her transfer outside of Mandaue City.
“So, no matter if she says nga ni deny siya ana bakakon siyang dako. Wala ko ganahi ana. And I don’t know unsa akong gibuhat niya ngano suko kaayo siya nako. Ako gyud iyang unang gitira nga iya kong papahawaon dinhi. I really do not understand. Amiga man unta mi, among pamilya paryente. I cannot understand nganong iyaha kong papahawaon diri sa siyudad,” Oliva told reporters in a press conference yesterday.
“Totally (I) do not know what her reasons are. I hope she can say it and tell Mandaue unsay iyang rason nga iyang papahawaon ang usa ka outstanding treasurer sa nasud,” she added.
In a separate interview, Dizon refused to dignify an answer to Oliva’s accusation. The congresswoman said she find it best to focus on doing things that would serve the people of Mandaue rather than answering Oliva.
Dizon also found an ally in some members of the LGBTQ+ community who expressed their support to the lady legislator by gathering in front of her office yesterday.
Earlier, Dizon already denied insinuations from Oliva that the Ouano family was behind her looming transfer.
“Kami we have always been silent, kay di mi ganahan og magubot-gubot. Kaning ilaha, speculations ra gyud. Naa ba guy nakit-an nga endorsement gikan namo? Naa ba gud miy letter nga nihangyo pahawaon siya?” Dizon said earlier.
As of yesterday, Oliva said she remains the city treasurer of Mandaue. She, however, said that she will vacate her post once she received an order from the Department of Finance.
“Once I will be receiving the order, I will move,” Oliva said.
What she allegedly received from the chief of staff of Finance Secretary Ralph Recto was a request for her to submit some documents. But Oliva said she will not be complying it.
“Which I will not submit, because it would seem to me that it might be a request for my transfer. I will be estopped from me not wanting to move. They want me to write a document that will say that I want to be transferred to another LGU. So, it would be my consent to be transferred. I will not consent because this is a ploy to remove me. The scheme is coming from them. If they want to remove me, remove me immediately,” Oliva declared.
According to Oliva, she is being asked to write a letter requesting for transfer and an order from the city mayor designating an assistant treasurer.
“So, wa ko kasabot. So murag ako na nuon?. Ako na hinuon di ba? Abi nako at first silay ni request sa Speaker of the House. Human karon ako nay nagparequest. So, I don’t understand what’s the development,” Oliva said.
She also said that aside from her, three other city officials are set to be removed from office.
“I don’t know. Maybe ila kong giuna human tan-awon nila unsa ko if they’re successful they might go get. I don’t know why they’re showing this power play in Mandaue City. I cannot understand and I know for a fact that Mandauehanons would definitely do not like the display of too much power in Mandaue,” Oliva said.
Oliva also explained her alleged running for an elective post in 2025. According to her, it was just an offshoot of the efforts to have her removed from office.
“Kani akong pagsud sa politika nga storya, ni abot rani kay tungod kini niya, iya man ko ipa transfer. So, kung mao nalang diay musukol ko, I will not leave Mandaue silently,” Oliva said.
She vowed to fight Dizon tooth and nail.
“Kung unsa iyang daganan, atong daganan. Kung modagan siya og mayor ay suklan nato pagkamayor. Atbangan nato siya kay siya may gauna-una,” she said.
