Caecent No-ot Magsumbol - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — Cebu City is set to play host to an entrepreneurship development training for barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan officials in September at Mezzo Hotel.

The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) had already issued a memo encouraging LGU s down to the barangays and SK councils to participate in the event.

Barangay and SK employees including Local Youth Development officers are also encouraged to participate in the back-to-back development training here.

The 4th Negosyo Sa Kabataan Entrepreneurship Development Training will take place on September 22 to 25, 2024, and the 10th Negosyo Sa Barangay Entrepreneurship Development Training on September 29 to October 2, 2024 both here in Cebu City.

The event organized by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) alongside the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship-Go Negosyo and the Development Center for Future Leaders, Inc. carries the theme "Trabaho, Oportunidad, Negosyo: Engaging Barangay and the Youth in Building and Sustaining Entrepreneurial Communities".

Both activities aim to engage more barangay and SK Officials to develop entrepreneurship, foster an entrepreneurial culture at the grassroots level, and enlist the help and support of local leaders and other stakeholders in building and sustaining entrepreneurial communities in the country, DILG said.

This event is also in support of the objectives of the Barangay Micro Business Enterprises Act of 2002 (Republic Act No.9178) and the Go Negosyo Act (Republic Act No.10644) in developing micro, small, and medium enterprises.

Interested local officials are encouraged to directly contact the entrepreneurship development training secretariat through e-mail addresses: [email protected] and [email protected] or mobile numbers 0927-427-3755 and 0927-427-3756.
