Kagawad arrested

MANILA, Philippines —  A former barangay captain who is now a councilman in Barangay Tutay in Pinamungajan Town was arrested last Thursday morning in Barangay Poblacion, Aloguinsan Town.

The accused was identified as Rhaabe Yanong Norteza, who was arrested via warrant for a drug-related case issued by Branch 59 of the Regional Trial Court in Toledo City.

Police Captain Jose Dante Talandron, chief of the Aloguinsan Municipal Police Station, said they were not the ones who filed the case against the accused but they are the ones who executed the arrest warrant since the accused was sighted in their area.

However, the councilor was also released after posting a bail of P40,000.(CEBU NEWS)
