Barangay captains asked to support CVIRAA, Palaro

CEBU, Philippines —  Acting Cebu City Vice Mayor Donaldo Hontiveros asked barangay captains for their all-out support in the city’s hosting of two back-to-back sporting events here, the Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association and the 2024 Palarong Pambansa.

Hontiveros asked for their help during the Liga ng mga Barangay’s general assembly at the Radisson Blu Hotel here the other day instead of the usual inspirational message.

This is not the first time for Hontiveros to either promote or ask for support for a government project in a gathering, and this time for the Palaro.

Cebu City’s PIO reported that Hontiveros asked barangay captains headed by LNB president and ex-officio councilor Franklyn Ong to help with transportation needs and security of the delegates coming from different regions in the country.

Hontiveros also updated barangay officials about the renovation of some school buildings that will be used as billeting quarters for the CVIRAA and Palaro.

“As you can see every schools nga billeting area among gi-renovate, of course, through the Local School Board… Maghatag lang ‘nya mi sa mga schedules ninyo and how you can help us with regards to transportation, security, above other things,” Hontiveros said.

The CVIRAA Regional Meet 2024 is set to take place on May 4 to 10 while the Palarong Pambansa is set to take place on July 6 to 17. -
