Comelec-7 holding voters’ education and registration

CEBU, Philippines — The Commission on Elections-7 is set to hold voters’ education and registration in two universities here this month, one is the University of San Carlos-Talamban Campus and the other the Cebu Doctor’s University, said Comelec-7 spokesman Omar Mamalinta.

USC-TC will have their voter’s education on February 27, 2024 at the Michael Richartz Center from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Comelec will also have a satellite registration and Register Anywhere in the Philippines (RAP) at USC-TC’s SAFAD lobby from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

RAP is piloted in the highly-urbanized cities in Region 7 including Cebu City, Mandaue City, and Lapu-Lapu City for those who want to vote in their hometown in next year’s election but cannot go home to their respective provinces at this time.

Meanwhile, Cebu Doctors’ University has scheduled a voters’ education on February 28 in their auditorium also from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

There will also be a satellite registration and RAP at CDU to be done at the South Atrium and Mirror Hall ground floor lobby/hallway from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Meanwhile, Comelec Carcar City also officially announced its satellite registration starting February 24 until August 12, 2024.

Special satellite registration is also being facilitated for vulnerable sectors such as the senior citizens, persons with disabilities, women, youth, indigenous people, and persons deprived of liberty.

“All 15 barangays in Carcar City will be given equal opportunity to be visited and conduct voter registration and voter education,” said Mamalinta, who is also Comelec Carcar City head.

For today, the special registration/satellite center in Carcar City will be in the Barangay Poblacion gym.

Mamalinta also advised others to check with their respective Comelec offices for the schedule of their respective barangays or malls for registration.

All Comelec field offices are also open today for anyone who wants to apply for voter’s registration.  (CEBU NEWS)
