Talisay grants cash incentives to board passers

CEBU, Philippines — To motivate and encourage Talisay City residents to study hard and do better in licensure exams, the Talisay City government is granting cash incentives ranging from P5,000 to P10,000 to all board passers starting next year.

A hefty amount also awaits those who will top in licensure exams especially bar exams.

Talisay City Mayor Samsam Gullas announced in a post on Facebook the approval of the ordinance that institutionalized the reward system for board passers. The mayor thanked his vice mayor, Choy Aznar, and the councilors for approving the measure.

“Naa tay good news, ilabi na sa katong planong mo-take sa Bar ug uban pang mga Licensure Exams sa umaabot nga tuig…The City Council has passed an ordinance that will provide financial incentives to our Bar and Licensure Exam passers starting in 2024,” Gullas said.

The ordinance amended an old measure that only grants cash incentives to board topnotchers.

“But now, starting 2024, all bar and board examination passers makadawat na,” Gullas said.

According to Gullas, his administration wants to honor the hard work of the Talisaynons to become a licensed professional and for inspiring others to do better in their studies.

“This is also our way of motivating our Bar and Board takers para mokugi sila sa ilang pagtuon,” Gullas said.

Starting in 2024, bar passer will get P10,000 incentive while P5,000 for other professionals. Those who will top in the Bar exams and Physician’s Licensure Exams will get P100,000; second placer will get P90,000; third placer, P80,000; 4th placer, P70,000; 5th placer, P60,000; 6th placer, P50,000; 7th placer, P40,000; 8th placer, P30,000; 9th placer, P20,000; and P10,000 for 10th placer.

For topnotchers of PRC-administered licensure exams: First placer will get P50,000; P45,000 for 2nd placer; P40,000 for 3rd; P35,000 for 4th; P30,000 for 5th; P25,000 for 6th placer; P20,000 for 7th placer; P15,000 for 8th placer; P10,000 for 9th placer; and P5,000 for the 10th placer. — (FREEMAN)
