Property owners told: Settle tax obligation

CEBU, Philippines — Real property owners in Cebu City that have not yet paid their taxes for the third quarter of this year are reminded of the deadline on September 30 and to settle their tax obligation to avoid complications.

City Treasurer Mare Vae Reyes advised owners to pay their taxes at the Office of the City Treasurer located at the 2nd floor, City Finance Center, M.C Briones St. Cebu City beside the Senior Citizen's Park.

A ten percent (10%) discount will be given to taxpayers, if the said taxes are paid either on or before the last day of the last month of the quarter. However, such discount shall only be granted to properties without delinquencies.

Along with this, Reyes also reminds those who are delinquent in the payment of their Real Property Taxes to settle their delinquencies immediately.

Otherwise the City Government of Cebu will be constrained to issue a warrant of levy on your delinquent properties pursuant to the provisions of Section 258 of Republic Act No.7160, Reyes said in its notice.  — /FPL (FREEMAN)
