56 traffic men eyed for regularization
CEBU, Philippines — As the Cebu City government is looking into streamlining its workforce, close to 60 traffic enforcers had been endorsed for regularization by the city's transportation office head, Raquel Arce.
Arce, through the city's Public Information Office, said the City Budget Office informed her in January this year that the Cebu City Transportation Office can only accommodate 400 casual employees.
Currently, the CCTO already has 456 casual employees, exceeding less than a hundred from when Arce assumed office last year.
With this, 56 of these casual personnel had been endorsed to become regular employees of the local government holding plantilla positions.
Arce plans to appeal before the Human Resources Development Office and to City Administrator Collin Rosell to prioritize the 56 casual employees for regularization for their hard work and tireless efforts.
Arce hopes the city could upgrade the employment status of the 56 casual staff before the campaign period for the 2023 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections begin.
“Ang ato man gud diha is nagplano ta kung di lang maabtan sa election ban, naa man gud tay mga vacant positions, regular positions. So those kanang maayo og performance maoy atong i-recommend for the regular position,” Arce said. (CEBU NEWS)
