From capitol: Over P200 million projects in Carcar inaugurated
CEBU, Philippines — The City of Carcar in southern Cebu has received several infrastructure projects worth over P200 million from the Capitol.
Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia led the inauguration and opening of road projects in the different barangays in the city on July 19, accompanied by Mayor Patrick Barcenas and other local officials
First in the line of inauguration is the newly-concreted Valladolid–Tuyom Road Section worth P56.3 million.
The road stretches 4.35 kilometers connecting the barangays of Valladolid and Tuyom.
Other projects are the completed 15-meter Valencia Bridge in Barangay Poblacion III and the 6.28-kilometer Awayan-Valencia-Zaragosa Road Section which cost P8.97 million and P108.43 million, respectively. The bridge connects to the road section giving convenience to the residents in the three barangays.
Garcia also led the inauguration of the newly-paved and improved Tapal Diversion Road Section in Barangay Guadalupe, also in Carcar City. The road which stretches 2.58 kilometers cost P38 million.
Capitol' road projects follow the national standard road measure of 9 inches thick and 6.1 meters wide.
Garcia's administration has been doing road improvements since 2019 with a target to improve both the provincial and barangay road networks in Cebu Province.
